Build a Computer
Now you can learn how to build a computer pick the parts you'd like to use (depending on your budget) and believe me this is great experience. So why build your own computer. First of all the experience of putting together your own machine that suites your need is a great learning experience. You might also save some money and if you like the experience you may be able to maintain and repair computers on the side and earn some extra cash.
My experience
While in college I needed to get a computer that could handle multimedia but could not afford one so I got on the internet and took a course on building my own computer, collected parts and build my own (cost me $500). That was four years ago and today its not only a hobby but I'm able to earn a living doing what I enjoy.
